Brian Palmer

Brian Palmer Chief Executive Officer

After serving with GE Energy for 30 years—and growing its Measurements and Control division to $4.5B—Brian joined Artera in October 2018.

A career engineer and executive, Brian brings a vast knowledge of end-to-end project processes to Artera. Before starting his career, he earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Brian is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kaivan Desai

Kaivan Desai Chief Financial Officer

With more than 20 years of financial leadership in multibillion-dollar organizations like NCR and GE, Kaivan brought his results-driven approach to Artera in December 2018.

In the Infrastructure sector, he served as CFO of the North America Power Services division and as CFO of GE’s $6B Oil and Gas Turbomachinery business. He graduated from GE’s two-year Financial Leadership Program and obtained his Finance and International Studies degree from Indiana University – Bloomington.

Kaivan is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Troy Allen

Troy Allen VP, Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE)

Troy brings more than 25 years of HSE experience to the Artera leadership team. An infrastructure industry veteran, Troy has served in HSE leadership roles at Primoris Services, Jacobs and the Shaw Group.

He joined Artera in June 2020 and leads the company’s health, safety and environmental efforts. Troy is a Certified Safety Professional, which is the gold standard in HSE certification, and received his Industrial Technology degree from Southeastern Louisiana University.

Troy is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jim Sutton

Jim Sutton VP, Procurement, Fleet and Operational Strategy

Jim held leadership roles with GE Power for more than 20 years, across supply chain, manufacturing, and the services sector. He led global sourcing and integration facilitation as well as managing multiple billion-dollar customer relations with Duke, Dominion, and Southern Company.

He joined Artera in September 2019 to lead the fleet, procurement and operational excellence strategy. Jim earned his degree in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University.

Jim is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tom Newell

Tom Newell Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary

For more than 20 years, Tom has served as the General Counsel, Secretary and Compliance Officer for multiple public and private companies. He’s navigated numerous industries including utility services, HR outsourcing and staffing, financial services and money transmission, and international equipment sales.

Tom joined the Artera team in 2014. Tom completed his degree in History from Duke University and later received his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law.

Tom is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Michelle Dean

Michelle Dean Chief Human Resource Officer

Michelle brings over 20 years of human resources experience, driving the development and implementation of innovative people strategies across private and public sectors.

Before joining the Artera team in October 2020, Michelle came from Keurig Dr Pepper, HD Supply, and Georgia Power Company with a proven track record of building effective teams and influencing culture change.

Michelle graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Marketing Communications and from the University of West Florida with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Org. Development Leadership.

Michelle is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jeff Davey

Jeff Davey Chief Information Officer

With more than 30 years of experience, Jeff joined Artera in June 2020 after spending 17 years with GE in a variety of CIO roles. Prior to GE, Jeff worked in a variety of engineering, field services, manufacturing and information technology roles. Throughout his career, Jeff has led the integration of more than 40 acquisitions.

Jeff’s experience spans many industries, including energy, healthcare, and oil and gas. Before starting his career, Jeff received his bachelor’s degree Computer Science from California State University – Chico. He later continued his education and completed his master’s degree in Computer Science from California State University – Chico as well.

Jeff is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Laura Morrow

Laura Morrow VP, Communications

Laura brings ten years of communications experience, seven of those within the utility construction industry, to Artera. Laura joined the company in July 2020 after leading marketing and communications for Miller Pipeline.

During her tenure with Miller, Laura supported four acquisitions, company rebranding and several industry shifts, showcasing the importance of communicating internal and externally during periods of change. Before starting her career, Laura received a bachelor’s degree in Management from Bridgewater State University.

Laura is based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Scott Stieber

Scott Stieber VP, Commercial Operations and Corporate Strategy

Scott’s career began at GE where he held various roles across engineering, commercial operations, and sales for utility customers in the Power Generation industry. After 12 years at GE, he joined Volt Power, an Artera (then PowerTeam Services) Company, as the Commercial Leader.

In April 2020, he was named VP of Commercial Operations and Corporate Strategy for Artera. Scott received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and his MBA in Finance from Georgia State University.

Scott is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
