December has long been known as the season of giving. and establishing ties with local communities has always been a priority for Artera’s family of operating companies and 2020 is no different.
The overwhelming support we receive from local homeowners, businesses, communities and customers are a constant reminder of why we do what we do, safely. Because of this, each year our team members give back to the communities that showed support throughout the year.
Here are just a few of the awesome projects our team members have been a part of this holiday season.
At KS Energy (KSE), a team in Mt. Prospect, Illinois donated toys to a local church on the south side of Chicago. Donation requests were at an all-time high due to the impact of COVID. In addition, KSE made a $500 donation to the church on behalf of the Illinois team.
Miller Pipeline had numerous locations finding ways to give back to local communities. In total, their collective community support raised more than $5,000 to help families in need across parts of Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey and Kentucky, along with numerous places in-between. In support of employees and customers, Miller made an additional $22,000 in donations to local nonprofits benefiting organization include local United Ways, THAW (The Heat and Warmth) Funds and Project Warm.
This year, Minnesota Limited team members showed up in droves to support their local communities. During the months of November and December, local teams across the Midwest held food drives, supported local youth programs, and collected gifts for families in need. Because of their collective efforts and donations, hundreds of families will be able to celebrate this holiday season.
Every year Otis Eastern supports the Save a Christmas program through the non-profit organization, New Directions in upstate New York. In 2020, Otis team members made donations of toys and clothing to support local families that need a bit of support to ensure their holidays are merry. In addition to the donation of gifts, more than $2,400 in cash was donated to New Directions in support of last-minute shopping.
Our team at Southeast Connections (SEC) partnered with Salvation Army locations in North Carolina and Georgia for their Salvation Army Angel Tree program. SEC was able to support more than 30 children by donating items from their wish lists: everything from dolls and LEGOs to clothing and makeup.
The Volt Power team in Atlanta, Georgia supported a local school, Russell Elementary, with gifts for families that were in need this holiday season. We know that many families will be able to celebrate, thanks to this team’s support.
